Young Film Academy run a plethora of filmmaking courses for young people, and this Four Day Film School was a truly, madly chaotic experience of shepherding twenty 10-13 year olds through their first experience of making a short film. We gave them film history worrkshops, writing workshops, really cool info on their favourite special effects… and then got them working on their own masterpiece. There are a lot of actors at this age, so our challenge was getting them to concentrate on some of the less glamorous aspects of camera operation and sound recording. But they got there, and what they produced was mighty impressive - a secondary school art heist complete with a multi-million pound French painting. Loved it!
