WHY I’M HERE

Writing, producing, directing and editing is my life blood. And that of the rest of my team.

I love creating beautiful images.

I love working with amazing people.

I have received awards, shortlisting and funding from the National Film School Bridges to Industry; BBC Writers Room; Exeter Phoenix, Waltham Forest Council and the Arrow Awards.

As a facilitator of groups of young people learning to make films and write creatively, I have worked with BFI Academy, and charities such as East London based Worth Unlimited, the feminist initiative Girls Friendly Society and Eastside Educational Trust in Shoreditch.

My specialist area is education as I have worked with young people for nearly twenty years as a teacher and tutor.

I am particularly interested in making films that support the natural world, particularly waste reduction, changing habits, protecting waterways, protecting animals and their habitats, and living more sustainably.

I work with sought-after filmmaker and colourist, Steve Atkins, whose work you can view here.

I am a filmmaker, videographer, writer and creative facilitator for young people, based near Exeter, Devon.

I have made films for Autograph Hotels, Carol Joy, electronic music producer Kalbata, and received awards for my directing from Oniros, Paris Underground Music Video, and Lift Off festivals.

I have been making films since 2013, when I made my first short film in Paris whilst working as a Technical Assistant at Sony Films. Since then, I have honed my skills with the National Film and Television School, Four Corners, St Martin’s School of Art and MediaBase in script development, film production, writing and editing.

I have also worked as a coordinator, producer, PA and researcher for BBC Worldwide, Channel 4, Ten Alps (making popular factual series such as Panorama), and indie doc company Mutiny Media; and as a Script Consultant for On the Corner and London Film School.

I work with the Blackmagic 4k Cinema Camera and am proficient with a range of broadcast cameras including Canon C400 and Sony FX6.

BOOK A CALL

I’ll send you a quote, with a rough timeline of the shoot(s) and edit, including time for you to feed back and approximate date of the final versions, as well as my Terms and Conditions.

If you’re happy to go ahead, I’ll send you a contract, which you’ll sign and return. You’ll pay a deposit (around 25% of the total cost). If you need to change the date of your project not sooner than 14 days before our shoot, you can do this once before losing the deposit. Within 14 days, the date must be set.

Pre-production for the shoot for me looks like creating storyboards, writing shot lists and hiring any extra kit I need. Pre-production for you may look like prepping your lines and preparing a location.

SHOOT THE FILM

I’ll keep you updated on the edit, send versions to feed back on, and deliver to deadline and via the mode agreed in the contract (online, hard drive, postal or in-person delivery).

SIGN OFF THE EDIT

We’ll discuss your business, your goals, budget, timeline, location, inspirations and requirements.

Once you have received all the deliverables, you will pay the balance of the invoice, and receive a receipt from me confirming this. You may even leave me a review and recommend me to your contacts!

On production days I do everything in my power to consolidate filming in a time-effective way. I ask that you make sure we have exclusive access to the filming location so that we don’t have any noise disturbances. If our shoot exceeds the agreed shoot day (usually ten hours), you may need to pay for overtime. If the weather does not suit what you had planned for the shoot and you decide not to go ahead, you will lose your deposit.
