I talked Tony Pitts (RIDING TRILOGY, FUNNY COW, GIRI/HAJI) into playing Fred West and found newcomer Rachel Salisbury (who blew me away in her audition).
I wanted to create an atmosphere of danger and dread and sex and possession. I wanted to see Fred cry, Rose take all the control, and to create an old man’s Gloucestershire pub in the centre of Brixton. For a two day, xero budget shoot, it was a big ask (when is it not?). BUT I LEARNT A LOT. .
