YOUTH CLUB IS A DARK COMEDY CENTRING ON LOU - A TRAUMATISED 40-SOMETHING DESPERATE TO ENGAGE LOCAL TEENAGERS WITH HER YOUTH CLUB.
YOUTH CLUB WAS COMMISSIONED BY EXETER PHOENIX IN MAY 2025 AND WAS PREMIERED AT THE TWO SHORT NIGHTS FESTIVAL IN MARCH 2026, WHERE WE WON THE AUDIENCE AWARD!
THIS FILM IS INTENDED AS A COMMUNITY PROJECT, AND A WAY TO MEET THE YOUNG ACTORS OF EXETER. I LOVE CREATING ART WITH YOUNG PEOPLE.
YOUTH CLUB IS AN EXTREMELY AMBITIOUS YOUTH FILM PROJECT. WE HAVE INVOLVED:
- 14 YOUNG ACTORS AGED 15-22 FROM EXETER SCHOOL, COLLEGE & UNIVERSITY
- TEN (MAINLY OUTDOORS) LOCATIONS
A FIRST-TIME LEAD ACTRESS
ALONGSIDE PROFESSIONAL LOCAL FILMMAKERS TO CREATE A HIGH QUALITY SHORT FILM.
WE HAVE BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO RECEIVE IN-KIND SPONSORSHIP FROM EXETER’S HOTEL MONTROUGE BY SUNDAY.

Chantelle De Vernon
Currently training Full Time MT at Exeter College and virtual acting classes with Mark Jermin. Upcoming training this Summer with National Youth Theatre Bristol Course, Grade 8 GCSE Drama.
Chantelle has performed in over 15 stage productions/musicals and currently in the works of 6 short/student films and one voiceover role. Playwright and National Youth Technician.
Work experience at Northcott Theatre 2024, Assistant Stage Manager in Suessical Barnfield Theatre.

Sarky Teen
Isaac Beswetherick Sau
Isaac has been a part of plays, pantomimes and many musicals and short films. Some of his most recent performances are starring as Aladdin with Dawlish Musical Theatre Company. He also played an oompa loompa in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, with TOADS (torquay operatic amateur drama society) and has been paid by 'Entertainingly Different' for his role as "hero boy" in a polar express themed musical party for children. Isaac is currently training with Mark Jermin, to develop his skills in acting on screen, and trained previously at stagecoach, and has accepted his unconditional offer to study acting at Bath Spa University, in hopes to in the future be able to act on screen.

Currently studying Performing and Production Arts (Acting) UAL Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma. I’ve also been in another short film called “The White Lady of St John’s Road” by Dean Ferris.

… BUT IT IS ‘TRICKY’ TO SHOOT OUTDOORS. WE ALSO HAD DOWN POURING RAIN, BUILDING WORKS, NOISY NEARBY DENTISTS’ HEATING SYSTEMS, AND DISRUPTED EQUIPMENT)…..
