I WANTED THE IMAGERY IN THIS VIDEO TO REFLECT THE THEME OF ‘OIL AND WATER’ - THE MERGING OF TWO OPPOSING ELEMENTS TO CREATE SOMETHING RAW AND VITAL.
Working on Kalbata’s track SOLUTION was a dream come true. I love ragga music, I love this tune, and I love MC Clapper Priest. Mai Nguyen’s Butoh performance was the perfect depiction of water for this video. Her signature flow and mischievousness were so much fun to direct and work with. JAMES CANAVAN DoP created an incredible atmosphere in Ugly Duck’s coveted garage location and working with him and his team for this one day shoot was a pleasure.
